Each Bago Luma piece is painstakingly shaped by hand, using traditional hand-forged methods that have been passed down for centuries. Pieces of iron are held in the fire until they become virtually white-hot. Those pieces are then forged into shape, then welded together to create a product that is as unique as the person who formed it.   

Bago Luma offers a multitude of hand applied finishes and slecting that finish is an important part of getting the look you want. The natural Rust finish is featured on most of their products. It can be considered their flagship finish. The Sheer Metal finish gives some iron pieces a rustic yet industrial feel that is popular in more contemporary settings. Bago Luma has worked hard to develop a process that allows them to produce finishes that are suitable for use in an unprotected outdoor environment. These finishes are expected to perform as well or better than traditional powder coating, while allowing BagoLuma to continue with their policy of offering only handcrafted and hand finished products. These finishes are not limited to outdoor use; they will look great in any room of the house!  

Finishes for Protected Areas: These finishes have been used successfully both indoors and outdoors on covered patios.
    Natural Rust - As the best-selling finish, this is deliberately oxidized (rusted) and sealed resulting in a variety of warm brown tones that play off an interesting texture. Because its a natural process, texture and coloration will vary.

    Sheer Metal - For use in protected areas, bare iron is clean coated, allowing colors and stree marks from manufacturing to show. This is a very industrial look.

Finishes for Indoor Areas: These finishes are intended for indoor use only.
    Crackle Finishes:  Today's most popular colors are treated to an aging technique that give the piece added charm. Top color is forced to crack and peel, exposing brown colors. Occasionally, small amounts of oxidation will seep through the color, generating areas with yellow/brown accents.

Finishes for Indoor & Outdoor Use: These weather resistant finishes are specifically designed to inhibit rust in areas with excessive moisture, but are as appropriate for indoor use as outdoors.
    Autumn Gold - Warm gold with brown undertones.

    Chestnut Brown - Warm brown with black and amber accents, similar to Natural Rust.

    Red Clay - Brownish red color with soft black accents.

    Spanish Moss - Olive green with brown undertones.

    Summer Nights - Soft black with subtle reddish brown undertones

Bago Luma Stone Top Options

Natural stone slabs are cut to the required specifications, honed to a matte finish, then impregnated with a sealer.  Travertine is part of the "marble family".  It typically includes small holes throughout, that are caused by imbedded geodes and steam escaping during formation, frequently causing the top surface and edges to be somewhat irregular.  While most designers prefer to see the stone in it's natural state, some choose to fill these ares with grout or an epoxy filler.  

The name "Travertine" refers to the cream and ivory tones and are fairly consistent.  

Copperstone is formed when nature adds minerals and other elements that give it brown and red colorations that resemble aged copper.  These variations range from soft terra cotta colors to rich reddish browns.
