This set includes the two most commonly used knives in the kitchen, the 8-in. Chef's Knife and the 3.5-in. Paring Knife. Both of these knives are from Messermeister's high-end cutlery series called the Meridian Elite. Each knife from this series is fully forged from a single blank of high-carbon stainless steel. The two piece poly handle is triple riveted to the full tang for a comfortable feel and a traditional appearance.

These knives have the sharpest edges of all forged cutlery. An elaborate 3 step sharpening process is enhanced in its final step by being carefully hand-polished. The Messermeister Meridian Elite series are hardened to 56 Rockwell hardness C, making them hard enough to hold their edge for a long period of time, yet still making it easy enough to restore their edge with a sharpening steel. These knives are made in Germany and come with a lifetime warranty.
